BOARD POLICY ON DOGS AT CLUB SPONSORED EVENTS
The GSDC of Greater Raleigh welcomes your German Shepherd at our events, including meetings. However, the following rules must be followed:
1. Anyone with an aggressive dog (one that growls, snaps, or is in any way aggressive towards other dogs or people) must be muzzled.
2. Dogs will be free of loose hair and external parasites (fleas or ticks). Please brush your dog prior to bringing it to the meeting as we must clean up the room after we are finished.
3. For the safety of all members, guests and their dogs, it is strongly recommended that all dogs be kept up to date on their vaccinations. ALL dogs that are old enough, MUST have a current rabies shot.
OCTOBER PICNIC INFORMATION
Well, the members, families, and dogs met at Spring Forest Park for our picnic on Saturday, October 15, and everyone had a great time. We played games, and let the dogs enjoy the outing. We are sorry that more of the members did not attend, but it was fun. The weather was absolutely perfect, and the food was great. Many thanks to everyone who participated.
GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG CLUB OF AMERICA
NATIONAL INFORMATION
As everyone knows, we are not having an official meeting in November, however, we will be meeting over at Concord, where the German Shepherd National will be held. On Saturday morning early on the 5th, we will meet at the show site as a club and participate in the Club Parade arrayed in our black pants with our gold club shirts carrying our GSDC of Greater Raleigh banner. Hope all our members will try to attend.
The National is being held at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center, 4751 NC Hwy 49, Concord, North Carolina.
For any of you who have never been able to attend a National show, this is a great opportunity. We have never, in my memory, (which is a long time) had a National that was being held so near to our homes. The closest we have ever had a show was down in Perry, Georgia several years ago. Next year, the National will be in St Louis, MO, and after that, who knows.
This is a wonderful chance to see the finest German Shepherds in North America.
This Friday, October 28, the GSDC of A will be having Herding Trials at Glennhaven Farms in Durham, NC. For more information call Linda Copestick at 904-543-0365
